Welcome to B.R.E.A.M.

The Bermuda Reef Ecosystem Assessment and Monitoring Programme, part of the Bermuda Biodiversity Project at the Bermuda Zoological Society, ran from 2004 until 2018

Dr. Thaddeus J. T. Murdoch, Ph.D. was the Project Coordinator and Lead Investigator. More than 30 Bermudian and international research associates, assistants, graduate students and interns assisted over the 14 years of operation.

We developed the first GIS-based maps of Bermuda reef system and assessed over 180 research sites across the area for over 100 species of fish, all hard coral species, and many other ecological parameters. We also carried out many other research projects in marine ecology, biology and environmenteal science.
